Learning logs and number journals

Please can all girls and boys complete their homework and return them to school.

This weeks learning log task is to research Bargoed in the past and present.

Number journals require children to draw 2D shapes and record the number of sides and corners it has.

Any questions please ask, we are happy to help.

Special items

Can all children please make
Sure they have their special item with them on Thursday.

If your object is too precious to bring to school you could take a photo of it and bring the photo in instead.

Thank you

Dosbarth Gwyrdd

Hello boys and girls.

I hope you have had a fantastic weekend.

This week could you please bring into school by Tuesday an object that is special to you.

Please be sensible about your decision. We will be using this to do some writing this week.

Think about the following:

1. Can you describe it?
2. How old is it?
3. Why is it special?
4. How does it make you feel?
5. What memories does it have for you?
6. Would someone else understand why it is meaningful to you?
7. Who is it from?
8. Why do you keep it and where?
9. Did anyone have it before you?

These questions should help you to identify a special object. It could be a photo, toy, medal, jewellery or something else that is precious to you.

I cannot wait to see them and hear all about them. I'm sure whatever you choose will have a lovely story behind it :)

See you in the morning

A fantastic week

Hello boys and girls.

Wow! What a fun week we have had.

We have been amazing mathematicians multiplying by 10. You are all such clever children.

A mysterious tent appeared on the junior yard and we predicted who we thought it may be and why, there were some fantastic ideas.

After waiting patiently, on Thursday we finally found a diary left in the tent. We now know that the visitor is a little girl named Ruby. We are wondering what she has in store for us?

I have been so impressed today with your very own diary entries!

Keep up the good work.

Week off

Hello boys and girls!

I hope you are all enjoying your week off. I cannot wait to hear about what you have been up too.

I hope your number journals and learning logs are coming on nicely. I am sure they are very creative, neat and interesting.

Myself and miss Williams have been reading lots and have stories to share with you when you return to school. I am sure you have all been reading too. We love to read in dosbarth gwyrdd. You were all lucky enough to take home a library book for the week :)

It is world book day on March 6th and it would be lovely if you could start to think about a book to bring to school that is your favourite or a book that has been written by your favourite author. This will help you to do activities on this day at school.

See you soon.

First week back

Hello boys and girls

It is lovely to have you all back at school after the holidays. We have shared lots of news about our Christmas this week.

A very well done to all of you who have returned your learning logs and number journals.

A quick reminder that number journals should be done in pencil and set out correctly following the checklist in the front.

Can all children please try their very best to do good work in their learning logs. Use the inspiration page to help you and present all work neatly.

Myself and Miss WIlliams love looking at the work you have done at home.
